On Saturday 2nd July Steve Burrows organsied Presidents day which raised over £4000 for charity.  Below Steve tells us about the day.

“Just a short note to give my sincere thanks to everyone who helped to make my President’s Day such a success on Saturday. The generosity and kindness of members and players was incredible and quite humbling and my thanks go to all who donated money, prizes and gifts.

Busy days like these take a lot of hard work and organising so I would like to thank all my helpers on the day: Nick Chinn, Ian Churcher, Heidi and Peter Chambers, Jane Cole, Peter and Theresa Brierley and, of course, Terry Dickinson who did a brilliant job with the auction.

There was a great atmosphere in a packed clubhouse and the total amount raised was over £4200 which will be divided between my charity, Cornwall Air Ambulance, and the Club Captain’s charity, K9, which helps to re-home badly treated and abandoned dogs.

Also, I would like to announce to the membership that I have asked my good friend Ian Churcher to take over from me as President of the Club when I stand down at the next AGM. I am delighted that Ian has accepted as I know that the position will be in safe hands for a further two years.

Many Thanks , Steve Burrows ”
